OUR SERVICES

Daily Rides at the Dunedin Botanic Garden.

These rides start outside the café. Just purchase tickets at the Train. When there are passengers aboard we go. Rides are subject to the weather and availability of volunteer drivers. You can check whether they are operating by contacting the Garden Information Centre, phone 4719275.

Hours :

Summer (Nov. - April) 10.30 am to 3.00 pm. - daily.

Winter (May - Oct.) 11 am to 2.30 pm. Sat, Sun, some week days.

Public and school holidays - daily.

No service - Good Friday and Christmas Day.

BLUEBELL, The Train

Takes a leisurely 10-15 minute circuit round the Lower Garden with commentary or music available. We cater for everyone and happy to assist the elderly or disabled aboard and can take two wheelchairs. Operates throughout the year subject to weather and availability of volunteer drivers.

Fares : Adults - $3 ,

Children - $1 , under 4yrs free.

Group Tours at the Dunedin Botanic Garden

We welcome group bookings for rides through the week and cater for Rest Homes, Preschools, Schools and Garden Groups. These tours need to be booked at least two weeks in advance. We can tailor them to your needs. For example:

Tour in Bluebell
The Train has a capacity of 20, or 16 plus 2 in wheelchairs and multiple trips can be made for larger groups. Your group can be picked up at the Lower Carpark, make two circuits of the Lower Garden, stop at the café and be picked up later and returned to the car park. Assistance can be given to the less mobile to get on and off. Children’s groups may want to stop for an activity or picnic. Commentaries or music is included. Prices are as for daily rides above.
